Why is a PPE Policy essential and required?

In terms of the Health and Safety Requirements in South Africa, all Companies are required to supply its employees of the essential and required PPE to perform their duties.

A failure to supply same may be deemed by the labour department (DOL) as a failure to follow legislation and may lead to penalties against the company.

The policy is built to regulate the handing out and supply of this required PPE to the employees. This will ensure that the employees do not misuses the PPE that has been supplied to them .
